Tharion Greyseer

Often times known simply as "The Greyseer", Tharion is the current Shan'do of the Netherbane: a group of demon hunters who battle against agents of the Twisting Nether and beyond. At the Greyseer's direction, the Netherbane strikes out from their training grounds deep within the Ashenvale.

Tharion is the former student of Eraelan Netherbane. Indeed, the demon hunting techniques that Tharion teaches are those that were originally crafted by Eraelan himself. Hunters are taught to strike with an unparalleled precision, seeking out the weakest parts of an enemy and focusing all efforts towards exploiting that weakness.

The Greyseer, however, has adapted these techniques further, turning them inward. Instead of purely seeking an offensive stance, he now trains defensively as well. His years studying how demonic energy flows through mortal flesh has revealed what areas need the most protection, and he has perfected how best to redirect mortal blows away from those areas. As such, Tharion Greyseer has been known to be able to take a considerable amount of punishment from his enemies without slowing.

Taught by Tharion is also the philosophy of "The Grey," which urges one to look at the world not in absolutes, but in shades of awareness. Those who follow the Grey tenets know that the world is not cast in pure black and white, and that it takes a deep understanding of all sides to truly pursue a cosmic balance.

In the shadow of the Burning Legion's defeat, the maintaning of balance has become Tharion's strongest pursuit.
