It was only after the vessel known as the Exodar had crashed into Azuremyst Isle that the draenei known as Kharendos began to explore Azeroth. As he travelled this new home of his, he realized that his past had already caught up to him--the Burning Legion was on this world as well.
Kharendos had fled Argus as a child on the Genedar, and had fled the Legion's wrath on Draenor as well. He did not want this world to suffer the same fate as either of those places, especially after everything he had lost. He wanted instead to fight back and protect his new home. Shaken by his anger, his faith in the Light wavered, and Kharendos found himself powerless to fight back against his great enemy. In time, he learned that he had to learn the ways of the spirits and the elements. He had to push past his doubts and dig deeply into the strength of this world--into the strength of Azeroth. And so it was that he began to feel the bond between him and the earth beneath his hooves.
During his battles, Kharendos heard about a group of shunned night elves who were willing to sacrifice themselves so as to contain the essences of demons. These demon hunters, as they were known, were able to draw upon the power of the fel for the greater good--for the protection of the world. Seeing both the light as well as the darkness in this path, Kharendos sought out these outcasts in hopes of learning more. It was not long before he found the Greyseer and those who fought alongside him. Although he was not like them, Kharendos still chose to walk the path of the Grey; a path of balance between Light and Shadow, and a path that he believed could be the salvation of this world.
