Eraelor is the youngest of the three Nightbane brothers. After the War of the Ancients and the loss of his two siblings to darkness, Eraelor gave up his pursuit of the arcane in favor of the druidic path. The decree of Malfurion Stormrage to ban the use of arcane power ensured Eraelor's obedience to his new direction.
However, it was not long before Eraelor discovered that his ability to commune with nature was severely limited. He was unable to gain the blessing of the forest spirits, and thus was unable to condition his body for shapeshifting. Instead, Eraelor settled on a role that was far more mundane: research.
Millennia later, when kaldorei arcanists were reluctantly allowed back into night elven society, Eraelor departed the Cenarion Circle and picked up his ancient spellbooks once again. He felt that his theoretical knowledge of druidic lore would grant him a place of influence within the organization, and so, he joined the Kirin Tor as an acolyte.
The council of six recognized his potential, but felt that his time isolated from the world had hurt him, and so they gave him the task of exploring the reaches of Azeroth and reacquainting himself with that which he had left behind so long ago.
His first assignment: study a mysterious group of demon hunters that had established themselves at the edge of night elven territory...
...founded by his brother, now going by the name of Netherbane.
