Eraelan Netherbane

Eraelan Netherbane has been walking the path of the demon hunter for nearly 10,000 years. After a chance encounter with Illidan Stormrage during the War of the Ancients, Eraelan set out to explore the scars of the world--those places of ruin left behind by the Burning Legion's first invasion of Azeroth. It was during these travels that Eraelan uncovered something that changed him forever.

Having witnessed Illidan's layered duplicity, Eraelan came to understand and accept the truth: the only way to truly stop the Legion upon its return was to destroy them with their own power. He had to become like them in order to defeat them.

It is from this compassionless pursuit that Eraelan has earned the dark reputation he has. Harsh and unforgiving, Eraelan Netherbane is willing to do almost anything to ensure the protection of the world. He founded a camp of like-minded individuals deep within the Ashenvale shortly after the war, which grew into the precursor to the Netherbane we know today.

Eraelan fights like a duelist. He is calm under pressure, often taunting his opponents and putting them on edge. His swiftness and precision are perfect counters to the rage-induced savagery prompted by his verbal sparring, and his twin dueling blades have tasted blood on many an occasion. His aggressive manner often puts him at odds even with potential allies.

There is very little love lost between Tharion's modern Netherbane camp and Eraelan himself. He is tolerated because of his skill and his experience, but rarely is he treated like the founder he is.
